In his novella “Der Schimmelreiter”, famous German writer Theodor Storm wrote about an Earl of the dyke, named Hauke Haien. According to superstitious local inhabitants, Hauke kept on living after his death. He is said to ride along the dyke on a white horse when something bad is going to happen. Especially, when dark clouds and thunderstorms threat the coastline…

Although the Zingst peninsula suffers from heavy thunderstorms too, our restaurant “Zum Deichgrafen” is open every day at 08:00 am – on nice and sunny days and rainy days as well.
Our menu offers dishes for any taste: the rich breakfast, fish, venison, as well as light cuisine. During summer, our traditional fish buffet is open to everyone on Saturdays. On Wednesdays a local fisherman cures fish on his own traditional way. If you like an old seadog’s stories and a delicious well-cooled beer, feel invited to come. Of course, there are several other beverages you can choose from!

By the way: we close not before all guest have been satisfied!

…that is what we wish you at the end of the year when everything is illuminated so beautifully and when spicy odors fill the air.

The campground restaurant’s team is looking forward to spoiling the guests with delicious food and great wine. Forgetting your every day life, you can relax in the cozy restaurant.
On December 20, 2006 we are starting our special weeks on Christmas.
What the Chef recommends on Christmas:

Roast potatoes soup with cured duck

Curly kale with smoked pork chop and potatoes (a local recipe)

Turbot served in a bamboo bowl with sliced vegetables and potatoes and slightly spiced dip from shellfish


We open Monday through Friday at 05:00 pm, on weekends and holidays from 12:00 am – 02:00 pm and at 05:00 pm
